In the morning our guide will pick up from your hotel in Mandalay to begin the Mandalay to Pyin Oo Lwin Day Trip.
We begin our one-day Mandalay to Pyin Oo Lwin tour after breakfast with a visit to a local market where we get a taste for local life in the unique part of Myanmar. The scenic hill town of Pyin Oo Lwin was a popular destination for the British during their rule of Burma, and as such is home to a wonderful array of colonial architecture. We spend an enjoyable few hours touring the charming village either by car or by horse-drawn cart, with a stop in the beautiful National Kandawgyi botanical gardens which thrive in the town’s cooler climate.
Later in the day, we visit the beautiful Pwe Kauk Waterfall which, formerly known as Hampshire falls, is now a favourite picnic spot for local families and has an enchanting atmosphere. A little further beyond the falls, we visit the deep caves of Peik Chin Myaung which are packed with various carvings of Buddha. Before returning to Mandalay, we make a final stop at the large and colourful Chinese Temple, which stands as a symbol of the multi-cultural identity of the town today. Our Pyin Oo Lwin day tour concludes when we arrive back at your hotel in Mandalay.
