Yangon-Sittwe-Mrauk-U

Upon arrival at Sittwe airport by flight, you’ll be guided to Mrauk-U Transportation Agent and Transfer to Jetty from where you’ll embark on an impressive boat trip by ROAD TO MRAUK-U’S boat. The journey takes  about 5-6 hours upriver to the last royal capital of Rakhine Kingdom, Mrauk-U.

Lunch will be served on boat with river life and amazing sunset from Boat. Upon arrival at Mrauk-U, transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in Mrauk-U.

Sightseeing Mrauk-U

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll take a morning walk to the Sek Kya Manaung pagoda, Pesi pagoda with 5 stone Buddha images on the hillock, then the 16th century temple of Koethaung temple known as the 90000 Buddha Images Temple, Min Khaung Shwegu, Paraoak pagoda. Then Lunch break time.

After Lunch you can take a walk through the maze like the Shithaung temple, known as the 80000 Buddha Images built in 1535 with sand stone that looks like fortress with interior tunnel and stone carving relief, the adjacent Andaw Thein temple and Htukan Thein Temple, Lay Myat Nyar Temple, Longbempyak, Pitakataik. If time permits, we’ll stroll along Thet National tribe Village famous for their big earing. Enjoy the sunset from the Haritaung pagoda where one can see the very wonderful overview looking around Mrauk-U. Dinner and overnight in Mrauk-U.

Excursion Vesali-Mahamuni & Sightseeing Mrauk-U

After breakfast at hotel, excursion to Vesali (Wethali), an ancient city founded by the King Mahataing Candra in 327 AD. According to history the Vesali was a city flourishing from the 4th to 8th century A.D. Visit Vesali Village and Vesali Great Buddha image from 327 A.D, a huge sitting image made out of a single solid sand stone.

Continue by car to Mahamuni Buddha image 1:30 hours drives, located at a very ancient Danyawady Capital, according to legend which was the place where Buddha visited from India during his life time and cast Mahamuni Buddha image. Danyawady was the original place of Mandalay Mahamuni Buddha image. Then drive back to Mrauk-U and take a rest on your lunch time.

After Lunch, visit the Archaeological museum and palace site which is now only ground left, date back to the 16th century. Further proceed to Sandamuni Bronze Casting Buddha Image, Leksekan Lake with city gate, drinking water supplying lake for dwellers. Enjoy the Sunset at Zinamanaung Pagoda. Dinner and overnight in Mrauk-U.

Mrauk-U – Sittwe – Yangon

Early morning transfer to jetty and board on your boat to return back to Sittwe. Upon arrival in Sitwe, if time permits, take a refreshment at a local restaurant and transfer to Sittwe domestic airport for the flight back to Yangon.
