In the morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Yangon and begin the Yangon Heritage Tour.
After breakfast, we begin our Yangon walking tour with a visit to the grand Secretariat building, where we will have the chance to enjoy a traditional cup of tea in the charming colonial surroundings. From here, we continue on foot to the historic Strand Hotel and the General Post Office. Nearby Pansodan Street is home to some of the most beautiful colonial buildings in Yangon and remains virtually unchanged since it’s golden days in the early 20th century. The famous Lokanat building, dating back to 1906, was originally a grand business centre for some of Yangon’s wealthiest traders but today plays home to a wonderful local art exhibition.
As we continue our private tour of Yangon, we delve further into the city’s fascinating past with visits to the Accountant General’s Office, Department of Currency and High Court building as we make our way towards Yangon’s grand Railway Station. Other points of interest that we pass include the Emmanuel Baptist Church, one of the oldest churches in Yangon, City Hall and the 1916 Customs House, home to a 100-year-old clock which still functions to this day. We conclude our Yangon city tour with a visit to the historic districts of Chinatown and the Indian Quarter, before returning to your accommodation.
